Camminare a piedi nudi sulla sabbia e fare il bagno nell’acqua di mare in pieno inverno.
Bè direte voi, se sei ai tropici…o tutt’al più in Sicilia…
Hehe, fuochino fuochino…sono in Italia…ma in Emilia Romagna, a Riccione precisamente!
Si amici, sono tornata in Riviera dove ho passato uno splendido weekend d’ottobre…che sembrava estate!
E’ vero sono stata fortunata col meteo perchè il sole era caldissimo e il cielo era terso (e mi dicono che lo è anche oggi che siamo a novembre), ma è grazie allo splendido hotel in cui ho alloggiato se ho potuto sentirmi davvero in spiaggia!
Sono stata all’Atlantic Hotel & Spa Riccione, un bellissimo quattro stelle superior proprio sul lungomare di Riccione, ed ora vi racconto perchè è così particolare ed eco-sostenibile!
L’unica spa ecoluxury con acqua di mare
Oltre ad essere un hotel di gusto e sobrietà, la sua particolarità sta nell’aver realizzato l’unica spa di tutta la riviera romagnola con piscine di acqua marina! Benessere in puro stile eco-luxury!
Sia la splendida piscina Atlantjde che le numerose vasche idromassaggio di tutta l’ Atlantic Spa sono riempite con vera acqua di mare, che viene prelevata costantemente dall’ Adriatico antistante l’hotel, purificata e riscaldata!
Questo che vuol dire che non c’è cloro, si rispetta l’ambiente, la pelle non viene aggredita e anzi trae i benefici del mare anche in pieno inverno!
Infatti la zona piscina può essere scoperta durante l’estate o riscaldata con questa luminosissima struttura a vetri durante la stagione invernale.
E non finisce qui: la novità di quest’anno di cui sono entusiasta è la Atlantic Winter Beach, la zona spiaggia affianco alle piscine con finissima sabbia riscaldata! Praticamente stando dentro a questa bellissima struttura che vedete in foto è come se fossimo in una sorta di “mare al coperto”, dove ci sono tutti gli elementi che troveremmo in spiaggia, e l’ambiente è riscaldato a 30 gradi con umidità controllata!
Per cui i bambini possono giocare nella sabbia liberamente in costume, gli sportivi possono farsi una bella nuotata nella grande piscina per il nuoto libero o correre sui tapis roulant che si affacciano sulla spiaggetta, gli amanti del relax possono godersi il tepore irradiato da speciali pannelli termici posti sul soffitto sdraiati su un lettino, e i golosi possono lasciarsi tentare da qualche delikatessen del bar posto al centro…tutto esattamente come su una vera spiaggia estiva, tutto esattamente in vero mood “siamo a Riccione“!!
Ho trovato questa trovata veramente geniale, non siete d’accordo? E dimenticavo: passeggiare sulla sabbia riscaldata ha ottimi effetti antiinfiammatori! 😉 Possiamo definirla una “eco-spa“?
Oltre alle piscine, se giriamo l’angolo entriamo all’ Atlantic Spa: la spa più moderna ed elegante di tutta Riccione! Con i suoi 200 mq di spazio, dispone di sauna finlandese, bagni di vapore marino, cristalli di ghiaccio e idromassaggi interni ed esterni, e può essere anche riservata per eventi privati, compleanni o momenti di coppia. Incantevole!
Stile mediterraneo all’Atlantic Hotel
Finiti i bagni, vado a godermi il tramonto dal mio balcone! La mia camera all’Atlantic Hotel & Spa Riccione era anch’essa splendida e molto particolare, in quanto l’arredamento in stile Mediterraneo richiamava molto gli interni di uno yatch!
Pareti candide, ceramiche blu e specchi si alternano ai classici decori di Vietri e fresche orchidee.
Un luogo luminoso ed accogliente con una splendida vista sulla spiaggia!
Ristorante Green: uno dei migliori ristoranti di Riccione
Altro fiore all’occhiello dell’ Atlantic Hotel, che se ancora non ve l’ho detto ha una storia di ospitalità di ben 50 anni, è indubbiamente il Ristorante Green, uno dei migliori ristoranti di Riccione!!
In un’ambiente romantico ed elegante, e con dehor per la stagione estiva, il Ristorante Green è noto per le sue specialità di pesce, in particolare le cruditè, trasformate in veri e propri capolavori dallo chef Pasquale Riccio.
Quest’ autunno il Ristorante Green ospiterà una serie di serate dedicate all’alta cucina con ospiti chef provenienti da tutta Europa! In particolare vi segnalo l’appuntamento di questo venerdi 17 novembre, in cui lo chef Pasquale Riccio ospiterà nella cucina del Green lo chef Edoardo Pellicano, stella Michelin al Portland di Londra!
Quale miglior momento per scappare dalla coltre di nebbia che sta ricoprendo il nord Italia e godersi un weekend all’insegna della buona cucina e della thalassoterapia?!
Nella stessa sala con veranda coperta affacciata sul lungomare, la mattina vengono servite le ricche colazioni. Il lungomare di Riccione è stato rifatto da pochi anni, ed è una piacevolissima passeggiata in qualsiasi ora e stagione. Io mi sono fatta delle belle corsette davanti l’hotel!
Vi anticipo che l’Atlantic Hotel & Spa Riccione sta preparando grandi sorprese per capodanno…tenete d’occhio il loro sito! L’ idea di un calice di bollicine immersa nell’ acqua di mare in pieno inverno mi stuzzica alquanto!
Il fratello maggiore di Riccione: Nautico Hotel
Per finire, il moderno Atlantic Hotel & Spa ha anche un fratello “maggiore” se vogliamo. Luogo storico di Riccione, a pochi passi di distanza troviamo il Nautico Hotel, dove ho passato una notte anch’io.
Le camere sono state totalmente messe a nuovo nei primi mesi del 2017, ed anche qui luminosità, colori candidi, specchi ed ampie finestre rendono l’ambiente giovane, fresco e rilassante. Dal mio balcone ho assistito ad un’alba spettacolare sull’Adriatico!
La chicca del Nautico Hotel è la piscina idromassaggio panoramica posta sul rooftop! Non ho potuto sfruttarla perchè proprio quel giorno era in manutenzione, dato che era stata chiusa da poco pensando che sarebbe arrivato brutto tempo…e invece visto lo splendido autunno era stato deciso dalla direzione di riaprirla di nuovo! E’ sulla mia to-do-list per il prossimo soggiorno riccionese! 😉
Sia all’ Atlantic che al Nautico ho trovato personale preparatissimo sempre disponibile ad esaudire ogni mio desiderio…insomma un vero weekend di coccole!!
Se tornare indietro nel tempo non si può…si può decisamente tornare a Riccione!! A presto!!

Well, you might think I was at the tropics … or perhaps in Sicily …
Nope!.. I’m in Italy … but I’m in Emilia Romagna, in Riccione precisely!
Yes, I have returned to the Riviera where I spent a wonderful weekend in October … that felt like summer!
It’s true I was lucky with the weather for the sun was very hot and the sky was clear (and they tell me it still is today that we are in mid-november) but it’s thanks to the wonderful hotel I stayed at if I really felt like I was being back at the beach!
I have stayed at Atlantic Hotel & Spa Riccione, a beautiful four star superior hotel right on the seafront of Riccione. Now let me tell you why it is so special (and eco-friendly!)
The only Eco-luxury Spa with sea water pools and beach sand
Apart from being an elegant and refined hotel, its uniqueness lies in having the only spa of the whole Riviera Romagnola with sea water pools! That’s what I call eco-luxury travelling!!
You got it right!! Both the beautiful Atlantjde swimming pool and the many hydromassage pools at Atlantic Spa are filled with real sea water, which is constantly pumped from the Adriatic Sea a few meters away from the hotel, purified and heated!
This means that there is no chlorine, it respects the environment so it’s sustainable, the skin doesn’t get dry and even draws the benefits of sea water even in wintertime!
In fact, the pool area can be uncovered during summer or heated with this bright glassy structure during winter season.
And it doesn’t just end here: this year’s big new entry is the Atlantic Winter Beach, the beach area next to the pools with fine and heated sand! So basically inside this beautiful structure you see in the pictures it’s as if we were in a sort of “indoor seaside” where we have all the elements we would find on the beach, and the environment is heated to 30 degrees with controlled humidity!
So children are free to play in the sand wearing their swim suits, the more sporty ones can enjoy a swim in the long pool run on the treadmill overlooking the beach, those looking for total relaxation will just lay die on the sunbeds enjoying the warmth radiated by special thermal panels placed on the ceiling, and in between activities everyone can indulge in some delikatessen from the bar … just like on a real summer beach, just like in the “we are in Riccione” mood!!
I find this really genius, agree? And I forgot to mention: walking on heated sand has great anti-inflammatory effects! 😉 Eco-friendly wellness!
Moreover, as we turn the corner, we enter the Atlantic Spa wellness centre: the most modern and elegant spa in Riccione! With its 200 square meters, it has a Finnish sauna, steam baths, ice crystals, indoor and outdoor hydromassage and can also be reserved for private events, birthdays or romantic couple memories. Fantastic!
Mediterranean-style at Atlantic Hotel Riccione
After the spa I’m going to enjoy the sun setting onto the Adriatic sea right from my balcony! My room at the Atlantic Hotel & Spa Riccione was also very very pretty and special, as the Mediterranean-style décor and furniture recalled the interior design of a yacht! White walls, blue ceramics and mirrors alternate with classic Vietri decorations and fresh orchids.

Green Restaurant: one of the best restaurants in Riccione
Another flagship Atlantic Hotel is proud of is undoubtedly the Green Restaurant, the best restaurant in Riccione!
In a romantic and elegant setting, with a seasonal dehor, Green Restaurant is known for its fish specialties, particularly the fish crudité, transformed into masterpieces by chef Pasquale Riccio.
This autumn, the Green Restaurant will host a series of special evenings with guest chefs from all over Europe! Let me remind you that this Friday, November 17, Chef Pasquale Riccio will host in the kitchen of Green Restaurant Chef Edward Pellicano, Michelin star at Portland in London!
What better time to escape from the winter fog and enjoy a weekend of healthy food and thalassotherapy?!
In the same room with a splendid covered veranda overlooking the waterfront, a rich breakfast buffet is served. The seafront walk in Riccione has been renovated a few years ago, and it is now a pleasant walk in any time and season. I used it to have really nice and energizing morning runs right in front of the hotel!
Start saving the date, because Atlantic Hotel & Spa Riccione is preparing some great surprises for New Year’s Eve … keep an eye on their website! The idea of a nice glass of champagne immersed in sea water in the middle of winter sounds pretty exciting to me!
Atlantic’s older brother: Nautico Hotel
Finally, the modern Atlantic Hotel & Spa also has a “bigger” brother. A historic name in Riccione, within walking distance is the Nautico Hotel, where I spent one night too.
The rooms have been completely renovated in the first months of 2017 and here too brightness, light colors, mirrors and large windows make the environment fresh, young and relaxing. From my balcony I witnessed a spectacular dawn on the Adriatic!
The little gem of Nautico Hotel is the panoramic rooftop pool! I could not make use of it because it was under maintenance that day. It’s on my to-do list for my next stay! 😉
Both at Atlantic and at Nautico I have found highly professional and kind staff, that were always happy and available to fulfill my wishes … in a few words, I’ve had a real pampering weekend!!
Although you can’t go back time … you can definitely go back to Riccione!! See you soon!!
